Veteran Tamil superstar Rajinikanth recently retreated to the serene Himalayas as the mountains brace for the winter chill. During his spiritual sojourn, the actor visited the revered Mahavatar Babaji cave, and pictures and videos from the trip have now gone viral on social media, capturing him away from the glitz and glamour of cinema.
Earlier, Rajinikanth had spent time at the Swami Dayananda Ashram in Rishikesh, meditated along the banks of the Ganga, and participated in the Ganga Aarti. In one striking image, he is seen in simple white attire, enjoying a meal served on disposable leaf plates placed on a stone surface beside the roadside, with a car and scenic hills in the background. Another picture shows him engaging in conversation with a group of men, likely at the ashram, and yet another captures him offering his respects alongside a priest.
Rajinikanth made his film debut with K. Balachander’s Apoorva Raagangal and went on to act in over 160 films across Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada cinema. Known for his iconic dialogue delivery and unique screen presence, he became one of India’s highest-paid actors by the 1990s.
In addition to his cinematic journey, Rajinikanth entered politics in the late 1990s and later launched the Rajini Makkal Mandram in 2018, before stepping back from active politics in 2021 due to health reasons. His latest film appearance was in Coolie, a Tamil action thriller directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, marking his 171st film as a lead actor.
