Ram Charan’s wife protests against Modi!

Wife of Tollywood hero-cum-producer Ram Charan and vice-chairperson of Apollo Hospitals Upasana Kamineni has lodged her protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, albeit in a softer tone.

Upasana, daughter-in-law of megastar Chiranjeevi, expressed shock over the absence of film personalities from South at the Prime Minister’s interaction with top film stars in New Delhi on Saturday.

In her Instagram post, Upasana said she was paid at the way South Indian film stars were ignored at the meeting.

“Dearest Narendra Modi ji. We in the South of India admire you and are proud to have you as our Prime Minister. However, we felt that the representation of important persons from film industry and cultural icons was confined only to Hindi artistes and the South Film Industry was completely neglected. I express my feelings with pain and hope it’s taken in the right spirit,” Upasana said in her post.

She was, however, careful about not mentioning the names of any film personalities from the South, including that of her father-in-law Chiranjeevi, whose latest film “Sye Raa” hit the national headlines.

Of course, Chiranjeevi was in the Congress party and served as the Union minister in the UPA-II government.

The Prime Minister, interestingly, acknowledged Upasana’s post with his “Like” message.

The event of the Prime Minister was attended by Who’s Who of the Indian film and entertainment industry, including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Jacqueline Fernandez, Imtiaz Ali, Ekta Kapoor and Anurag Basu.
