In Indian cinema, the entry of star kids into the film industry often sparks debate over nepotism. While many believe that such actors enjoy easy access to opportunities, others argue that their journey comes with immense expectations and scrutiny. Actor Ram Pothineni recently shared his perspective on the subject during his appearance on the talk show Jayammu Nischayammu Raa with Jagapathi Babu.

Recalling an encounter from his early days, Ram said he met Megastar Chiranjeevi around the time of his debut film Devadasu, which went on to become a hit. “My director YVS Chowdary used to tell me that since I wasn’t a star kid, I needed to work harder with every film,” Ram shared.

He added that meeting Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan for the first time made him nervous as a newcomer. “At that time, I wished I had a father like Chiranjeevi garu who could introduce me to big directors. But later, I realized I had no pressure and could focus completely on acting. I actually feel bad for them because the pressure they face is unimaginable,” he said.

Ram further reflected on how the term nepotism is often misunderstood. “It’s not just about opportunities; it’s also about expectations and the weight of a legacy,” he explained.

Speaking of Ram Charan, the actor continues to uphold his father’s illustrious legacy with dedication and impactful performances, earning admiration across generations of audiences.

On the work front, Ram Pothineni is currently shooting for his upcoming film Andhra King Taluka, directed by Mahesh Babu P and produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The film is slated for release on November 28.
