Despite Gopichand’s efforts to elevate his market value and break new ground in the industry, he has been struggling to surpass the 20 crore mark in terms of box office success. Even films in the 17 crore range have failed to make a significant impact on the market for Gopichand.
This time, Gopichand had high hopes for Rambanam, a commercial family entertainer crafted by director Srivas, with whom he shares a good rapport. Unfortunately, Rambanam failed to generate positive buzz in terms of word-of-mouth.
The film received only average talk from the audience. Taking a closer look at the first-day collections, Rambanam managed to accumulate a share of 1.17 crores and a gross collection of around 2.20 crores in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
It garnered an additional 15 lakhs from overseas and other states. Globally, the movie achieved a share collection of merely 1.25 crores on its opening day. The unexpectedly low collections of the original Rambanam came as a surprise to many.
AP-TG Total: 1.17CR
Karnataka+ROI+OS: 10L
Total WW Collections: 1.27CR (2.45CR~ Gross)
The film was released with a pre-release business estimate of 15.20 crores but could only accumulate a share collection of 1.27 crores on the first day. This indicates that the movie will be considered successful only if it surpasses the 13 crore mark in terms of share collections. It remains to be seen how long it will take for the film to achieve its break-even target.
