Rana Daggubati, widely recognized for his impactful roles in Baahubali, Bheemla Nayak, and The Ghazi Attack, has been on a brief hiatus from acting over the past couple of years. During this period, he shifted his focus towards producing and backing content-driven projects. While some of his planned films didn’t take off, the actor is now gearing up to make a strong comeback on screen.
Currently, Rana is shooting for Kaantha, which also stars Dulquer Salmaan, and is playing an important role in Parasakthi, a Sudha Kongara directorial featuring Sivakarthikeyan.
The actor has made it clear that he wants to return to lead roles with powerful projects. Some earlier ventures, including a few big-budget ideas, were shelved before production. One of his most ambitious projects, Hiranya Kashyapa, is still in the pre-production stage, requiring more time before it can move forward. Additionally, talks are ongoing for Leader 2 with director Sekhar Kammula, though that too will take time to materialize.
Even as he plans his comeback as a leading man, Rana continues to co-produce strong, content-driven films. With 2026 shaping up to be a packed year, Rana Daggubati is clearly setting the stage for a refreshed phase in his career — one that combines acting, production, and meaningful storytelling.
