Rao Bahadur Rethinks Release Amid Peddi Clash

Release date reshuffles often put small and mid-budget films in a tight spot, forcing them to quickly look for alternative slots with minimal competition. This is never easy, especially during packed seasons. Satyadev Kancharana’s psychological drama Rao Bahadur is now facing a similar challenge.

The situation arose after Ram Charan’s much-anticipated rural drama Peddi locked June 4 as its release date. Earlier, Rao Bahadur had secured June 5, considering it a relatively open window with no major competition.
With the makers of Rao Bahadur gearing up to begin promotions, this sudden development has come as a setback. Given the massive buzz around Peddi, which is expected to dominate screens in its opening week, it would be a risky move for smaller films to release alongside it.

As a result, Rao Bahadur is likely to reconsider its release plan. The film has already generated positive attention due to its intriguing concept and promising teasers, and choosing the right date will be crucial to capitalize on that momentum. Industry talk suggests that shifting to the last week of June could be a safer option, with an official announcement expected soon.

Directed by Venkatesh Maha, the film is backed by Mahesh Babu’s GMB Entertainment in collaboration with Sri Chakraa Entertainments, A+S Movies, and Mahayana Motion Pictures. The cast also includes Deepa Thomas, Vikas Muppala, Bala Parasar, Anand Bharathi, Pranay Vaka, Kunal Kaushik, and Master Kiran in key roles.
