Rashmika Mandanna’s “Thamma” Struggles in Telugu States

Rashmika Mandanna, one of the most successful pan-India actors, has seen her latest release, Thamma, make almost no impact in the Telugu market. Released during Diwali in Hindi, the film has generated little to no attention among Telugu audiences.

It is common for Hindi films to struggle in the Telugu states, especially when promotions are minimal. Despite Rashmika’s strong National Crush image and the positive reception of her previous Maddock comedy films, Thamma has collected just over ₹35 lakh in two days, marking a disappointing start.

So far, the team has conducted only one promotional event, which failed to gain traction due to competition from other Diwali releases. Industry experts believe that the film needs a much stronger promotional push and solid word-of-mouth to gain momentum.

If Rashmika herself steps up her promotional efforts, at least in the Telugu states, the film could gain some traction and pick up momentum toward the weekend, potentially improving its box office performance.
