Ratnaprabha filed a petition in AP HC seeking a halt in the Tirupati by-polls result

BJP candidate Ratnaprabha has filed a petition in the AP High Court seeking retention of the recent Tirupati Loksabha by-election result.

Ratnaprabha said in the petition that the Central Electoral Commission should be directed to investigate the irregularities that took place on the day of the election. The petition is likely to be heard by the High court today.

Ratnaprabha included 32 candidates from the Central Election Commission, YCP candidate Gurumurthy and TDP candidate Panabaka Lakshmi as respondents.

Since the day of the election, TDP leaders have been alleging that massive fake votes were cast during the by-election polls. The party chief Chandrababu Naidu wrote a letter to the CEC on the issue.

In his letter, he demanded a re-polling in the Tirupati. Under these circumstances, BJP candidate Ratnaprabha filed a petition in the High Court.
