Mass Raja Ravi Teja has always struck gold when sticking to high-energy mass entertainers that perfectly suit his persona. Every now and then, he experiments with performance-oriented roles to showcase his versatility, but those attempts rarely click at the box office. From Naa Autograph to Eagle, many of his different experiments didn’t resonate as much with the audience.
Now, he is all set to make a grand return with a full-fledged mass entertainer titled Mass Jathara. Interestingly, the Telugu hit Sir—which marked Tamil star Dhanush’s debut in Telugu cinema—was initially written with Ravi Teja in mind. Director Venky Atluri had envisioned him for the role while developing the story. However, due to Ravi Teja’s packed schedule, he couldn’t commit, and Venky eventually cast Dhanush.
Ravi Teja reportedly holds no regrets about missing the project. He mentioned that Dhanush was the perfect choice for the role and that the actor executed it even better than he could have. When Venky first narrated the story, Ravi Teja liked it but expressed that he was tied up with other commitments and suggested Venky proceed with another option. Later, upon learning that Dhanush was taking the role, he supported the decision wholeheartedly.
In a recent conversation with Ravi Teja, Venky Atluri, and Mass Jathara director Bhanu Bhogavarapu, the topic resurfaced. Venky noted that Ravi Teja could have brought a different energy to Sir, but Ravi Teja humbly reiterated that Dhanush was indeed the right fit and delivered the role perfectly.
This grounded and supportive attitude highlights why Ravi Teja remains not just the Mass Raja on screen but also a humble and positive personality off-screen.
