Read out to know why Mumbai police lodged FIR against Salman Khan’s brothers!

Of late the civilly aviation ministry introduced stricter rules especially for international travellers returning to India from other countries. We have seen many instances when citizens were detained for violating the protocol.

In this context, an FIR has been lodged against Salman Khan’s brothers Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Sohail’s son Nirvaan Khan for flouting Covid-19 rules. Reportedly, the trio flew back to Mumbai from Dubai on December 25. They were ordained to be in quarantine at a hotel. Nevertheless, without paying heed to the directives, they skipped the isolation and went home.

As per the union ministry guidelines for covid, travellers returning from UAE and other European countries must be in 7- day institutional quarantine at their own expenses.

The three intimated the officials that they had booked a suite at the Taj Lands End but then evaded the isolation. BMC officials went to Sohail’s home to enquire but were told that they tested negative. However, the issue was taken seriously. Hence, the Mumbai police registered a case against the three following a complaint by Mumbai BMC medical officials and were compelled to stay in quarantine in the said hotel.

FIR was registered under Section 188 (disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant), section 269 (a negligent act which is likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of IPC and Section 3 of Epidemic Diseases Act.
