NTR, MGR Inspired Pawan Kalyan’s Role in Hari Hara Veera Mallu

As Pawan Kalyan’s much-anticipated film Hari Hara Veera Mallu gears up for its July 24th release, the excitement surrounding the film is at an all-time high. In a recent revelation, director Jyothi Krishna shared that he drew significant inspiration from legendary icons NTR and MGR while designing Pawan Kalyan’s character in the film.

Jyothi Krishna explained that Pawan’s role was conceived by observing his trailblazing persona, which reminded him of the legendary stature of NTR and MGR. He deliberately shaped Pawan’s character to reflect a virtuous, powerful, and people-centric leader.

The director highlighted that MGR, even after becoming Chief Minister, continued acting in films that carried strong social messages and themes of honesty. Inspired by this, Jyothi Krishna composed the impactful song ‘Maata Vinali’ for Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which emphasizes positivity, righteousness, and embodies Pawan Kalyan’s ideology. The song, he says, has deeply resonated with audiences due to its meaningful content.

Similarly, NTR’s iconic portrayals of mythological characters like Lord Rama and Lord Krishna served as another creative influence. Jyothi Krishna noted that NTR’s depiction of Lord Rama, with his bow and arrow symbolizing dharma and justice, inspired him to design a similar element for Pawan’s character in the film. Since Hari Hara Veera Mallu is a period drama, the bow and arrow symbolize Pawan’s strength and his commitment to fighting for justice.

“While writing the script, I realized that audiences don’t just see Pawan Kalyan as a hero — they see him as a leader. That’s why I wanted to craft every scene to be special and impactful, elevating the narrative,” Jyothi Krishna shared.

With this blend of cinematic grandeur and ideological depth, Hari Hara Veera Mallu is shaping up to be both a visual spectacle and a statement film in Pawan Kalyan’s career.
