Relax, Mahesh Overcame Even Baahubali Wave

There’s a superstition among Tollywood circles and movie lovers that star heroes’ films that release immediately after a blockbuster film do not succeed at the box office. Common perception is that films that release just a few days after any film that created a lasting impact on audiences will have to bear the burden of sky high expectations of repeating the same feat. And movies that do not recreate the same feel and impact as the previous blockbuster are outrightly turned down by the audience.

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s upcoming political drama ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ is going through the same challenge now, thanks to Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam. Pressure is on Mahesh and Bharat Ane Nenu to repeat the success and emotional impact created by Rangasthalam. Trade analysts and anti-fans are wondering if Bharat Ane Nenu will be able to match up to the expectations of the audiences who are still in Rangasthalam’s hangover.

But relax. Those who are expressing doubts or anxious about Bharat Ane Nenu’s box office performance must realise that Mahesh even braved the mighty Baahubali wave and went on to score a non-Baahubali hit with Srimanthudu.

Baahubali The Beginning released on 10th July 2015 and went on to stun Indian movie lovers with its grandeur and impact. And then, Srimanthudu released on 7th August 2015 amid mammoth pressures and expectations and ended up as the second highest grossing Telugu movie of that time.

Director Koratala Siva has a knack for narrating emotionally connecting message oriented stories with enough entertainment. Bharat Ane Nenu promises to be treading the same path and there would be no surprise if the film even surpasses Rangasthalam at the box office.
