Resigned Tdp Mla Says, He Would Not Contest The By-elections!

TDP senior leader, former Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao was the first politician from Andhra Pradesh to resign from his post as a bid to protest against the Centre’s move to privatise the Vizag Steel Plant.

When he first resigned from his MLA post on February 6, he didn’t submit the letter in the right procedure. The MLA has resubmitted his resignation letter to Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly speaker Tammineni Sitaram on February 12.

He has resigned as MLA at the protest site in Vizag yesterday. He submitted his resignation letters to the representatives of Journalists Forums. Srinivasa Rao has submitted three resignation letters

“If the speaker accepts my resignation and paves way for the by-elections, I will not contest the elections. I will field Vizag steel plant employees as the candidate. We will field a candidate from people who are protesting for the steel plant, Ganta said.

Adding further, the MLA said we will create history by winning the by-elections with public supports. Leaders across the parties should come together to support the protests, Srinivasa Rao maintained.

Rubbishing the reports of leaving the party, Ganta Srinivasa Rao said, he will not leave the Telugu Desam Party(TDP) and will continue with the party. All parties should come together to support the protests.

If the state stands together, the Centre would roll back its decision on the Vizag Steel Plant. I have personal bonding with the shore city. The steel plant is not just an industry, it’s the self-respect of the people of Vizag.
