Respect the Mandate, Pawan’s Advice to Jagan

Andhra Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, recently offered a pragmatic solution to the Assembly dilemma facing Jagan. On one hand, Jagan seems hesitant to attend sessions, yet on the other, he appears overly concerned about the risk of disqualification for consecutive absences. Adding to the complexity is his strong desire to claim the opposition leader status.

In his advice to Jagan, Pawan urged him not to overplay the opposition narrative. He stressed that leadership titles are bestowed by the people, not by governments or speakers. “Just because you were the chief minister once doesn’t mean you’re automatically entitled to lead the opposition,” he remarked.

Pawan further advised Jagan to exercise patience and honor the public mandate. “Act with maturity and respect,” he said. “If you conduct yourself with integrity, recognition will follow naturally. We all work based on the mandate given by the voters, and there’s no alternative to that.”

In essence, Pawan implied that Jagan’s apparent eagerness for the opposition role might be misplaced, suggesting that an excessive pursuit of power could be seen as a direct challenge to the voters’ verdict. While this mature counsel from Pawan Kalyan offers a sensible perspective, only time will tell if Jagan will take heed of his advice.
