Revanth Reddy Credits Chandrababu Naidu for Hyderabad’s IT Revolution

It’s a well-known fact that Chandrababu Naidu played a pivotal role in pioneering the IT revolution in Hyderabad—a transformation that laid the foundation for the city’s emergence as a global tech hub. However, over the years, some have attempted to discredit Naidu’s contributions, sparking debates over who truly deserves the credit.

Putting an end to such debates, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made a powerful statement today, openly acknowledging Chandrababu Naidu’s instrumental role in shaping Hyderabad’s tech landscape. Speaking at a public event, Revanth said, “NTR will be remembered in history for introducing ration rice and bringing Sona Masoori rice to common households. Chandrababu Garu will go down in history as the visionary who launched the IT revolution and laid the foundation for Hitec City.”

He further praised other notable leaders as well, stating that YS Rajasekhar Reddy will always be remembered as a champion of farmers, thanks to his initiatives like free electricity for irrigation and key water projects.

The most striking part of Revanth’s speech was the clear acknowledgment of Naidu’s legacy in launching the IT boom. This validation from the current Chief Minister effectively puts to rest any attempts to downplay Naidu’s role.

It’s worth noting that it was Chandrababu who brought Microsoft to Hyderabad in 1998 by personally convincing Bill Gates—a landmark move that triggered a wave of software investments and established Hyderabad as a leading destination for IT.

With Revanth Reddy’s statement, the historical significance of Chandrababu Naidu’s contribution to the city’s IT evolution has been reaffirmed at the highest level.
