Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has strongly criticised the alleged police action against students protesting in New Delhi over the NEET paper leak issue.
Reacting to visuals showing students being allegedly subjected to lathi-charge and tear gas during their march towards Parliament, Revanth Reddy said that young people from across the country who gathered to seek justice were being met with force instead of a response to their concerns.
The Chief Minister accused the Central government of attempting to suppress the voices of students whose academic future has been affected by alleged irregularities in competitive examinations.
“Using police force to silence students reflects a fear of accountability and democratic expression,” Revanth Reddy said, while expressing solidarity with the protesting youth.
He called for an immediate halt to what he described as excessive use of force against students and demanded accountability in connection with the alleged NEET and other examination paper leak controversies.
Revanth Reddy reiterated that students raising concerns over the fairness of examinations should be heard and assured his support for their demand for justice.
