RGV’s Horror Comedy Comeback with Police Station Mein Bhoot

Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) has long been regarded as one of the most unconventional filmmakers in the Telugu film industry. Known for constantly stirring controversy and grabbing headlines, every film he makes is a talking point. Despite delivering a series of box office disasters in recent times, RGV continues to have a significant presence in Indian cinema, backed by a long-standing career.

Once admired by both audiences and critics alike, RGV now often finds himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling. Multiple protests and legal cases have been filed against his films, but he remains undeterred, continuing to direct movies in his signature style.

Determined to make a strong comeback, Varma is now venturing into a new genre with a horror-comedy titled “Police Station Mein Bhoot”, which he plans to release on a pan-India scale. Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee, known for his roles in cult classics like Satya, Kaun, and Shool, is set to play the lead role. Genelia and Rajpal Yadav will also be seen in pivotal roles.

The film is scheduled to begin shooting on July 26, with the production expected to wrap up by the end of this year. A theatrical release is being planned for 2026.

Interestingly, this marks RGV’s first attempt at the horror-comedy genre. He has promised stunning visual effects and a unique storyline. As Varma described during the film’s announcement, the plot centers around the idea that while people usually run to a police station when they’re afraid, what happens when the police themselves are haunted by a ghost?

Given the fresh genre and intriguing premise, RGV’s fans are quite eager to see how this project unfolds.
