Rhea Chakraborty Gets Passport Back After Five Years

Actress Rhea Chakraborty has regained possession of her passport after nearly five years, following an order from the Bombay High Court directing the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to return it. The passport had been withheld since 2020 in connection with the drugs case linked to the death of her late partner, actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Rhea posted a picture from the airport holding her passport with the caption: “Patience was my only passport for the past 5 years. Countless battles. Endless hope. Today, I hold my passport again. Ready for my Chapter 2! Satyameva Jayate.”

Rhea was arrested by the NCB in September 2020 and later granted bail, but restrictions on her passport prevented her from travelling abroad for work. Her lawyer filed for its release, arguing that the seizure was affecting her professional opportunities. The High Court agreed, allowing her to reclaim the document under conditions: she must attend all hearings unless excused, keep her phone active for communication with agencies, and submit details of any foreign travel.

On the work front, Rhea was last seen in Chehre (2021) alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi. Her film credits also include Sonali Cable and Jalebi, and she has appeared on TV shows such as MTV Roadies: Karm Ya Kaand and MTV Roadies: Double Cross.
