Prasanna Sankar, co-founder of the $10 billion US-based HR-tech startup Rippling, has made serious public allegations against his wife, Divya Sashidhar, amid an ongoing divorce and custody battle. Sankar, who co-founded Rippling with Parker Conrad in 2016, is also the founder of 0xPPL, a Singapore-based social platform for crypto enthusiasts launched in 2023.
In a series of statements that have gone viral on social media, Sankar alleged that his wife, a US citizen, falsely accused him of rape and domestic violence as part of a contentious legal dispute over custody of their son. He claimed that their marriage deteriorated following the discovery of an alleged six-month-long extramarital affair between Divya and another individual named Anoop.
According to Sankar, what began as a divorce case has escalated into a broader conflict involving allegations of harassment, financial fraud, extortion, and police misconduct. He further alleged that police in Chennai were demanding Rs 25 lakh for the release of his friend, Gokul, and had threatened to frame false charges against him if he failed to disclose his whereabouts.
Sankar also accused his wife of abducting their child to gain leverage in the custody proceedings. While he filed for divorce in India, Divya has reportedly initiated separate proceedings in the United States, seeking higher alimony. The couple had previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding under which Sankar agreed to provide Rs 9 crore in support and Rs 4.3 lakh per month in maintenance, along with a mutual agreement for 50-50 custody of their son.

Adding to the controversy, Sankar released screenshots of a private WhatsApp exchange allegedly between Divya and Anoop, which he claimed provided evidence of the extramarital relationship.
Sankar has also alleged that local authorities have been illegally surveilling his activities—tracking his phone, UPI transactions, vehicle movements, and IP address—despite no FIR being registered.
Divya and Prasanna first met as students at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, and have been married for over a decade.
