Rita Bhattacharya, the ex-wife of singer Kumar Sanu, has shared emotional details about the challenges she faced during her pregnancy with their third child, Jaan Kumar Sanu.
Rita revealed that her life turned upside down when Kumar Sanu dragged her to court during that period. She felt isolated and restricted, unable to go outside, meet friends, or even wear makeup. She also claimed she was denied proper nutrition, often left weak and unwell while carrying their child.
According to Rita, Kumar Sanu’s behavior changed significantly after the success of Aashiqui. While he gained fame and wealth, she endured neglect and mistreatment. She alleged that her in-laws even locked the kitchen shelves, forcing her to borrow rice from her sister-in-law just to cook simple meals. Doctors were reportedly instructed not to accept payments for her care, and shopkeepers refused to supply baby food on Sanu’s directions.
Rita also recalled feeling humiliated and heartbroken when Sanu mocked her in court. The couple, who married in the late 1980s, had three children before divorcing in 1994. Additionally, Rita claimed that Sanu had an affair with actress Kunickaa Sadanand.
These revelations paint a stark picture of the personal struggles she endured during a critical period of her life.
