In the election result of most-controversial by-election in India: RK Nagar (Tamil Nadu), Sasikala’s aide TTV Dinakaran has emerged as triumphant and this came as a big shocker among political circles. The state parties DMK & AIADMK totally failed to give him a fight and DMK couldn’t even gain deposit.
Having got suspended from AIADMK, TTV kicked off his campaigning in RK Nagar even before the candidates were finalized in rest of the parties. And just a few days before election, a viral video of Jayalalitha went viral on social media and it has sent out signals that Sasikala’s family has got nothing do with Amma’s death. While, on other hand, AIADMK is suffering several issues within the party.
Only after AIADMK sacking Sasikala’s family from party, former Chief Minister O Pannerselvam and his team of MLAs offered back support to E Palaniswamy to gain ‘two leaves’ symbol. Although ruling AIADMK announced senior leader Madhusudhan, who can also lure Telugu voters, as its contestant for RK Nagar – he did not get complete support from the party.
Usually, in the rural parts of Tamil Nadu, DMK has got great strength. But, the opposition party did not show any impact in the bi-election and party’s contender Ganesh lost deposit. While Political pundits are seeing TTV as a crucial leader in state after this phenomenal victory, the opposition leaders do not consider him to be major roadblock in coming general polls.
And it remains to be seen how the politics in Tamil Nadu state will take shape in the coming few months!
