Ajay Bhupathi Lines Up Srinivasa Mangapuram and Plans Mangalavaram 2 Sequel
Director Ajay Bhupathi, known for his impactful yet fluctuating career graph, continues to stay in the spotlight with his upcoming projects. A disciple of Ram Gopal Varma, he made a powerful debut with RX 100, which earned him instant recognition for its raw and intense storytelling.
However, his second outing Maha Samudram failed to impress and faced strong criticism. He later made a strong comeback with Mangalavaram, though the film’s discussions were largely dominated by its glamour elements rather than the core narrative. Now, he is gearing up for a new project titled Srinivasa Mangapuram.
This upcoming film introduces the third-generation hero from the Ghattamaneni family, Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni, to Telugu cinema. Scheduled for a July release, the film is considered a crucial project for Ajay Bhupathi as he aims to re-establish his creative strength and consistency.
At the same time, reports suggest that the director is already working on ideas for Mangalavaram 2, even before the release of his current film. According to industry buzz, he has recently narrated the sequel concept to director Koratala Siva and producer Mikkilineni Sudhakar of Yuvasudha Arts. The discussions are said to be progressing positively, and an official announcement may be expected soon if things fall into place.
Interestingly, Yuvasudha Arts is currently expanding its lineup of projects, with multiple young directors being supported under its banner. As per reports, the production house is actively developing new films, including their recent collaboration with a Vishwaksen-starrer project.
With multiple films in the pipeline, Ajay Bhupathi appears to be entering a crucial phase where his next few choices could define the direction of his career.
