With just four films, young and brilliant filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj has developed a cinematic universe of his own. People who watched ‘Vikram’ will understand how he cleverly used Kamal Hassan’s old ‘Vikram’ which came out in 1986 as the backstory along with using references of his own ‘Khaidi’ and Karthi’s ‘Dilli’ character in it. Also, he cleverly brought out the name of ‘Rolex’ throughout the course of ‘Vikram’ on several occasions before finally revealing Suriya as ‘Rolex’ in the final portions of the film.
He introduced Suriya’s character in the most menacing fashion and has set the stage perfectly for the second part of ‘Vikram’. This gangster drama featuring big names like Kamal Hassan, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Fasil did not create a lot of hype before the release in Telugu states. But the positive talk on the Day1 encouraged the action lovers to step into the theatres and Lokesh Kanagaraj weaved his magic since then.
The movie is currently running with a super hit talk and collections on Sunday in both the Telugu states were quite good. The main test lies today but the audience who watched the film are now eagerly waiting for the face-off between Suriya’s ‘Rolex’ character and Kamal’s ‘Vikram’ aka Ghost. Let us wait and see when the second part arrives.
Lokesh has accepted another project with Vijay after ‘Master’ and let us wait and see how he handles it first. Besides playing the lead role, Kamal Haasan is also producing this movie in association with R Mahendran under Raaj Kamal Films. Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, Arjun Das, Shivani Narayanan and others are also playing key roles. Apart from star cast, the film also features Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, Arjun Das and Shivani Narayanan in supporting roles.
