Is YS Jagan Mohan Reddy proving to be not only a cleverer politician but also a better administrator? Many have dismissed YS Jagan as young and inexperienced in the nuances of administration and termed KCR as a master crafty politician. But on more than one occasion, Jagan has outclassed his Telangana counterpart.
Jagan has flummoxed KCR when he referred the Krishna water dispute to the Central Government. Thus, he has not only defeated KCR, but ensured that the Telangana government would not take up any additional projects upstream of Krishna river. The same way, he has shown his political acumen by staying close to the Modi government, but not fully and openly supporting it.
On the other hand, KCR had initially gone out fully in support of Modi government on all decisions such as demonetization, article 370 and farm laws. Later, he backtracked and began slamming Modi on every conceivable occasion. This has led to an unnecessary confrontation with the Central Government.
When Jagan merged the APSRTC into the government, KCR was quick to denounce it. He called it a mindless act. But, a year and a half later, KCR has decided to implement the same thing that he had denounced earlier. This has only showed that Jagan was right in merging the RTC into the Government.
