If TRS party emerged victorious in the assembly elections, then major credit should go to the pro-farmers schemes. Among them is the Rythu Bandhu scheme which gives financial assistance to farmers which is Rs 5000/- per acre. With the scheme getting a phenomenal response, the central government has also initiated the process to implement it.
However, the ‘Rythu Bandhu’ scheme is temporary and once a farmer is provided with basic facilities for agriculture, it would be shelved. Well, these statements are made by none other than Telangana agriculture chief secretary Parthasarathy. He went on to say that this scheme may not last long. The day when a farmer is arranged the infrastructure needed for farming, this scheme will be withdrawn.
This statements of Parthasarathy have become controversial and TRS leaders are completely shocked by the senior government official’s words. The pink party leaders went in defence and added that this scheme will be not be shelved at any cost and questioned how can government official make such remarks on government schemes.
A total of 57,15,870 farmers in Telangana are getting paid Rs 5000/- twice a year by the government and just a day before the polling, the Telangana government transferred the amount to the farmers accounts. As a results, more than ninety per cent of the farmers voted for TRS party.
Having got to know about this, the chief minister’s office has asked for an explanation from Parthasarathy. But the chief secretary defended his comments.
