Young music director Sai Abhyankar has been making waves in South India even before his official debut, thanks to his involvement in big projects like Allu Arjun–Atlee film, Suriya’s Karuppu, and Karthi’s Marshal. While Balti was technically his first release as a music director, it was Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude that truly brought him into the spotlight.
When the first single from Dude, Oorum Blood, was released, it faced criticism, with many calling Sai an over-hyped sensation and doubting his work on bigger projects.
However, after the theatrical release of Dude, opinions began to shift. Audiences appreciated the music, calling the songs “slow poisons”. The real turning point came when the film premiered on OTT last week.
Social media was flooded with hundreds of edits using the Oorum Blood score, earning praise for its universal appeal. Especially, the interval BGM, a reworked version of Oorum Blood, resonated strongly with viewers. Fans began syncing the BGM with other popular movie scenes, making the clips go viral.
The music’s popularity soared, and the video song itself started trending again. Remarkably, Oorum Blood crossed 100 million views on YouTube.
This unexpected response has been a huge confidence booster for Sai Abhyankar, especially after the initial criticism. Fans are now eagerly awaiting his music in upcoming big projects, excited to see what the young composer delivers next.
