Saif Ali Khan Clarifies Apology Over Adipurush Role

Adipurush, one of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema, ended up being a massive disappointment despite its staggering budget of over ₹600 crores. Directed by Om Raut and starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, the film was widely criticized and failed to impress at the box office.

Recently, Saif Ali Khan made headlines for a comment he made during an interview, where he said he had apologised to his son, Taimur Ali Khan, for making him watch Adipurush. The statement quickly went viral, sparking backlash on social media. Many criticized Saif, interpreting it as a disowning of the film.

However, in a recent clarification during the promotions of his latest OTT release Jewel Thief, Saif addressed the controversy. He explained that his apology to Taimur was not for showing him the film but for portraying an evil character in it.

Recalling the incident, Saif said that while watching the movie with his son, he noticed Taimur’s uncomfortable expression, as if silently asking, “Why am I watching this?” Saif added, “I realised how intense my performance was and apologized to him immediately.”

He further clarified, “My son saw me growling and smashing everyone on screen. He later told me to play the hero next time. I want to make it clear that I stand by all the films I’ve done — including Adipurush.”

This clarification aims to put the controversy to rest, reaffirming Saif’s professionalism and his connection with his audience — especially the little one at home.
