Salman Khan Faces Backlash Over Balochistan Remarks

Share

Bollywood actor Salman Khan recently stirred controversy on social media with his comments during the Joy Forum 2025 event in Riyadh. While addressing the diverse South Asian communities working in the Middle East, he mentioned, “There are people from Afghanistan, Balochistan, and Pakistan… everyone is working here.”

His remark triggered outrage among social media users from Pakistan, as Balochistan is the country’s largest province and has a long history of unrest and demands for autonomy. It remains unclear whether Salman’s comment was a slip of the tongue or a lack of knowledge, but it certainly drew widespread attention.

Following the incident, several social media posts and Indian media outlets claimed that Salman Khan had been placed under Pakistan’s 4th schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act (1997) for allegedly being an “Azad Balochistan Facilitator.” However, no credible Pakistani media house or government source has verified this claim, and its authenticity remains unconfirmed. Typically, the federal government of Pakistan has the authority to declare a foreign national as a terrorist, making the report highly speculative at this stage.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan continues his professional commitments, hosting Bigg Boss Season 19 and shooting for his upcoming film Battle of Galwan.
