A false affidavit, which he had filed in Jodhpur session court in 2003, has haunted Salman Khan like a shadow all these years. The Bollywood star on Tuesday apologised for wrongly submitting the false affidavit, during his hearing in a case related to the poaching of two blackbucks in Jodhpur in 1998.
We are aware that Khan was arrested in 1998 for hunting two black bucks in Kankani village near Jodhpur during the shooting of ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. The actor was booked under Section 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act and the court asked him to submit his weapons license.
In 2003, Khan filed an affidavit claiming that he lost his license. Following this, he lodged an FIR with the Bandra Police Station in Mumbai. However, the court found that arm license was not lost, but submitted for renewal.
Public Prosecutor Bhavani Singh Bhatia then asked that a case be filed against the actor for deceiving the court. However, Jodhpur District Sessions Court Judge Raghavendra Kachwal on Thursday cleared the petitions filed against Khan.
Khan was present for the decision via video call. The decision was made around 3.30 pm when the Judge said that the PIL filed had no strong grounds.
