Samantha Akkineni is currently focusing on lady oriented films. We know the actress is currently making a film, Shaakuntalam, under the direction of Gunasekhar. The South diva, who can ace any kind of role with ease and perfection, won the best actress in leading role award, at SIIMA awards. However, the actress couldn’t attend the event to receive the award.
So on her behalf, Natural star Nani received the award. Now, the Eega actress shared a photo of the trophy to thank Nani most funnily. She took to social media and thanked the Natural star for collecting her award. Sharing the pic of the trophy, Samantha also asked Nani if he ever thought he would get the ‘Best Actress award’. She also congratulated him for a win on Jersey and said he was amazing in the movie.
On the work front, Samantha will be next seen in Shaakuntalam. The mythological drama film is produced by Neelima Guna and Dil Raju under the banner of Gunaa Teamworks and Dil Raju Productions respectively. Based on a popular Indian play Shakuntala by Kalidasa, the film also features Dev Mohan as Dushyanta, the king of Puru Dynasty.
The actress also has Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, directed by Vignesh Shivan and jointly produced by Vignesh Shivan, Nayanthara and Lalit Kumar under the banners of Rowdy Pictures and Seven Screen Studio.
