Many are aware that the richest streaming OTT platform in the world, Netflix, had picked up the Bahubali franchise to shoot a prequel to the movie, titled Bahubali: Before the Beginning.
Earlier, director Praveen Sattaru and Dev Katta had directed the series and Netflix was not happy with the output and hence scrapped the thing altogether. The streaming platform decided to reshoot with double the budgets that total to a whopping 200 crores.
Now, the makers of the series approached South siren Samantha Akkineni to play the lead role in this series. As per reports, the series explores the rise of Sivagami, from her childhood to becoming a queen.
After watching Samantha’s performance in The Family Man 2, the team felt that the 34-year-old actress could fit the role perfectly. They thought that Samantha craze could help to attract the attention of the viewers.
However, the actress said to have refused this massive offer, although the OTT giant offered a massive pay for her. By starring in this series, the actress can surely have acquired a global image, but her fans couldn’t understand what stopped her from being part of this massive web series.
