For the past few weeks, speculation has been rife that Kollywood actor-director Samuthirakani might reunite with Powerstar Pawan Kalyan for another film. The duo previously collaborated on the 2023 fantasy comedy Bro, which received a lukewarm response at the box office. Fans felt dissatisfied with Pawan Kalyan’s character and the overall execution of the film.
The rumours intensified after Samuthirakani reportedly met Pawan Kalyan at his Mangalagiri office in Amaravati a few months ago. While no official announcement was made, their meeting sparked widespread buzz.
Now, Samuthirakani himself has provided an unexpected update. During the trailer launch event of Kaantha in Hyderabad, he revealed that the script for a Bro sequel is already completed and will move forward once Pawan allocates his dates. His statement quickly went viral, triggering mixed reactions from fans. Many expressed concern rather than excitement, recalling the disappointing reception of the first film. With Pawan Kalyan recently making a strong comeback with OG, fans hope he focuses on projects that deliver vintage, fan-favorite experiences rather than experimental roles like Bro.
However, given Pawan’s busy political commitments and prior promises to other projects, the likelihood of Bro 2 happening soon seems slim. Fans need not worry too much about Samuthirakani’s announcement, as the project’s progress will largely depend on Pawan Kalyan’s availability in the coming years.
