Sandeep Reddy Vanga has steadily built a reputation as one of Indian cinema’s most intriguing and bold filmmakers. Known for his uncompromising vision and intense storytelling, the director commands a unique presence in the industry.
Recently, Sandeep found himself at the center of a controversy involving Bollywood media and Deepika Padukone’s PR team. The situation escalated after reports suggested that Deepika had been removed from his upcoming film Spirit, following which Sandeep indirectly accused her PR team of planting negative stories against the project.
The issue has taken another turn now. A journalist from Bollywood media, reportedly linked to the situation, responded to the backlash by clarifying their stance. “I didn’t reveal the plot, question the casting change, or disrespect the film in any way,” the journalist said. “There was no involvement from any actor or PR agency. I take full responsibility for the news I reported, whether it turns out to be true or not.”
Emphasizing journalistic accountability, the writer also stated, “My intention was never to cause harm or create controversy. I’ll still be watching Spirit FDFS, just like I did with Kabir Singh and Animal.”
Despite the journalist’s clarification, it seems the friction between Sandeep Reddy Vanga and what’s being referred to as the “Bollywood PR mafia” is far from over. With Spirit gaining attention even before production ramps up, the film now carries the weight of not just cinematic expectations—but also the baggage of industry politics.
