Thalapathy Vijay is reportedly planning to conclude his illustrious film career with Jana Nayagan, which is set for a grand Sankranthi release next year. The film’s business prospects have already surprised the trade, with the worldwide gross required to break even estimated at ₹500 crore.

As reported earlier, Vijay is one of the rare stars who commands massive box office numbers regardless of critical reception. His recent films may not have won universal acclaim, but his market value remains unshaken. With Jana Nayagan being his last film, anticipation among fans is at an all-time high. For comparison, his previous release Varisu (Vaarasudu) grossed ₹300 crore, and had it been a blockbuster, it could have set box office records. The breakeven breakdown estimates over ₹200 crore from Tamil Nadu alone, more than ₹100 crore from the combined Telugu, Karnataka, and Kerala markets, and over ₹200 crore from overseas collections.
