Andhra Pradesh Congress president YS Sharmila has made startling allegations, intensifying the already strained relationship with her brother and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The long-standing property dispute within the YS family seems to have now taken a dramatic political turn.
Speaking to the media today, Sharmila claimed that both former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and YS Jagan were involved in an unauthorized phone tapping operation targeting her and her family.
“I strongly believe that my phone was tapped by both the former chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. I am unsure whether this was part of a secret pact between them or a mutual understanding. But I am certain that not only my phone, but those of my husband and other family members were also tapped,” she said.
Backing her claim, Sharmila stated that YV Subba Reddy, a close aide of Jagan, had once visited her residence and openly admitted to the phone tapping. “He even played a recording of one of my phone conversations, which confirms that the previous government monitored my calls,” she added.
Sharmila noted that while Subba Reddy may not confirm the incident now due to pressure from Jagan, the issue reflects a serious breach of privacy and deepens the already growing mistrust within the YS family.
These allegations have come at a time when the phone tapping scandal involving the former BRS-led Telangana government is making headlines, with several political figures and celebrities reportedly being targeted.
