‘Shehzada’ Trailer Talk: Bigger & Louder But Not Better!

The teaser of Karthik Aryan’s ‘Shehzada’ arrived back in November and we all saw that it is an official remake of ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramlo’. Tall beauty Kriti Sanon is the heroine. Paresh Rawal is going to play the role Murali Sharma did in the original while Manisha Koirala will be replacing Tabu in the mother’s role. It has been made official that the movie will be hitting the screens on 10th February 2023.

Now, the theatrical trailer has been released and it looks like the makers have definitely tried to make a part by part copy of the original. Despite the background change, the scenes between Karthik Aryan and Paresh Rawal, Karthik making comments of Kriti’s legs, the hero calling Rolls Royce as Rajamouli’s car because of ‘RR’ symbol and Rajpal Yadav doing the role which was done by Rajendra Prasad and others prove that a lot of the scenes from the original have been retained.

But the visuals are grander, the songs are in typical Bollywood style, the glamour levels are quite high and Karthik Aryan definitely did his best in the role mastered by Allu Arjun. The young hero’s energy and charm are pretty evident and he will impress you if comparisons are not drawn. On the whole, the trailer is bigger and louder in every aspect but it is not better than the original which has a soul in it.

Allu Aravind and S Radha Krishna who produced the original Telugu film are also partners in this Bollywood remake. Pritam is composing the music and we all know the range of success ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramlo’ achieved. We need to see if the senior composer achieves the same level of success Thaman did or not. Rohit Dhawan who made ‘Desi Boyz’ and ‘Dishoom’ is directing this film. The movie is arriving with a lot of expectations since Karthik scored a massive hit in the form of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ recently.
