Malayalam cinema continues to push boundaries with its storytelling, and the latest project in the spotlight is Bangalore High, a film centered on the pressing issue of drug abuse. The film features Shine Tom Chacko in the lead role—an intriguing choice, considering his recent involvement in a real-life drug case.
Interestingly, Shine Tom Chacko has reportedly expressed deep regret over his past association with drugs, which is said to have motivated his decision to take on this socially relevant project. Directed by V.K. Prakash, the film aims to raise public awareness about the dangers of substance abuse.
Bangalore High was officially launched in Bangalore on Monday and features a promising ensemble cast, including Siju Wilson, Queen-fame Aswin Jose, Baburaj, and Shanvi Srivastava in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Dr. Roy CJ under the Confident Group banner.
This project also marks Shine Tom Chacko’s attempt to revive his career after facing personal setbacks, including a tragic road accident that claimed his father’s life. Apart from Bangalore High, Shine has a busy slate with upcoming films like Meesha directed by Emcy Joseph, Adinaasham Vellappokkam, The Protector, and Ankam Attahasam.
With a timely subject and a talented cast, Bangalore High is poised to deliver a hard-hitting narrative on a social evil that continues to plague society.
