In just three days, the remastered version collected over ₹4.5 crore gross, far surpassing expectations. Despite concerns about whether today’s younger audience would connect with a film released in 1989, Shiva 4K has proved its timeless appeal.
Starring Nagarjuna Akkineni, the film explores student politics and the rise of urban rowdyism. It also marks the sensational directorial debut of Ram Gopal Varma, which changed the course of Telugu cinema.
The film’s performance in North America was equally impressive, grossing $60,000 and placing it comfortably among the top Telugu re-release earners in the region.
