Laya Gorty Aims for a Strong Second Innings
Actress Laya Gorty, once a leading heroine in Telugu cinema, settled in the USA after her marriage. Over the years, she shared glimpses of her life abroad, balancing family responsibilities while occasionally posting about her experiences as a homemaker.
After nearly two decades of marital life and with her daughter now entering her teenage years, Laya has decided to return to acting, aiming to build a strong second innings in the industry. Interestingly, in this comeback phase, she is sharing screen space with many senior actors who were once her co-stars during her peak years.
While she earlier appeared as the lead heroine, Laya is now taking up character roles, often portraying the wife of senior heroes. Despite her efforts, her recent films have not brought the expected success. Thammudu, starring Nithiin, ended up as a box-office disappointment, while Sampradayini Suppini Suddapusani, where she played Sivaji Sontineni’s wife, also failed to make a commercial impact.
Laya is now placing her hopes on her upcoming thriller “Vadhala”, in which she appears as the wife of Jagapathi Babu, hoping this film will mark a successful return to the big screen.
