Shruti Haasan is all set to share the screen with Rajnikanth for the first time in Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which is slated for release on 14th August. Alongside Rajnikanth, the film also stars legends Nagarjuna and Sathyaraj, making it one of the most anticipated films of the year. Fans are buzzing not only because of the star-studded cast but also the exciting new collaborations this film brings.

Reflecting on her experience working with Rajnikanth, Shruti shared, “I’ve always known him as Rajni sir, like everyone else, but working with him has given me an entirely new perspective. We didn’t really interact much growing up, even though our families were often thought to be close. I think I must have met him just a handful of times. But getting to know him now and working with him has been wonderful. He’s so different from papa. He’s a unique blend of humility, sharpness, and clarity in his work. He notices everything and is extremely non-judgmental, yet very clear about how he does things. He’s just kind and respectful to everyone on set. It’s been an absolute pleasure.”

Shruti also recalled a memorable moment involving her father, Kamal Haasan, and Rajnikanth: “Rajni sir once told me, ‘Thank God for your dad or else I could have hurt myself really badly.’ He was supposed to do a jump scene but didn’t have a mattress, and it was my dad who noticed and brought one, teaching him how to do it safely. I’ll always be thankful to him for that.”

While Coolie is generating major buzz, Shruti is also making waves in the international arena with her upcoming film The Eye, where she plays the lead role. This marks her global debut, and the film is set to release later this year, adding yet another exciting dimension to her career.
