In what can be described as her Tollywood comeback film, Shruti Sodhi has been signed on for Marana Mrudangam. The actress, who was last seen in the 2016 film, Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu, will play the leading lady in the Srikanth-starrer.
An excited Shruti says, “People still call me Pataas girl when they see me at the airport, so I’m so glad to be back in Tollywood with another exciting project.” (Pataas was her debut film in Telugu).
The new film, directed by Venkatesh Rebba, is a revenge drama, and Shruti will be seen in a dual role. “Now that’s something I will be doing for the first time, so it naturally excited me. Moreover, the variations between my two roles are sharp, and I am thrilled about that,” explains the actress, adding that she will be working on her Telugu.
“My preparation for the part has just started, and I want to keep the momentum going. I have shed a few kilos for the part, and shall soon work on my language. Although I understand Telugu, I would love to strike up conversations this time around. I can’t wait to commence shooting,” she signs off.
