In a recent media interaction ahead of the re-release of Yevade Subramanyam on March 21, director Nag Ashwin addressed this ongoing fan battle. While he acknowledged the fan rivalry, he expressed that he wasn’t aware of the details surrounding it. However, he did share some positive memories of working with both actors during the film’s making, recalling how Nani was extremely supportive of Vijay. Ashwin highlighted their collaborative approach, with the two discussing every scene together and supporting one another on set.

When asked about the possibility of reuniting both actors for another project, Nag Ashwin seemed doubtful, suggesting that trying to recreate the magic of Yevade Subramanyam might not have the same impact today. On the idea of a remake, he proposed Naveen Polishetty as a potential fit for Nani’s role, while recommending a fresh face for Vijay’s character.
