Ominous Shadows Over Kantara Chapter 1
The much-anticipated film Kantara Chapter 1 seems to be facing an unsettling string of mishaps, casting a shadow over the production. Recently, widespread reports claimed that a boat carrying actor-director Rishab Shetty and 30 others had capsized in the Mani reservoir. Fortunately, it was later clarified by the production team that the incident involved a film set collapsing due to strong winds—not an actual boat accident. All were safe.
However, this was not the first disturbing occurrence linked to the film. Since shooting commenced, several unfortunate incidents have shaken the team. A van transporting junior artists was involved in an accident. In a tragic turn, actor Kapil lost his life by drowning during a swim. Adding to the gloom, two other artists—Rakesh Pujari and noted mimicry performer Kalabhavan Viju—died of heart attacks, sparking concern and sorrow within the industry.
Given that Kantara Chapter 1 delves deep into divine folklore and spiritual themes, these events have stirred unease among many. A respected theater artist recently voiced apprehensions about commercializing deities, while another man—dressed in ritualistic attire—claimed that Rishab Shetty has enemies in his inner circle.
As the film faces an ongoing court case and rushes toward its slated October 2 release, an air of mystery and dread appears to loom over the production—almost as though unseen forces are at play. Interestingly, the social media astrologers, often quick to offer remedies and insights during controversies, have so far remained silent.
