Lokah Chandra Crosses ₹101 Crore in 7 Days
Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films has delivered its biggest blockbuster yet with Lokah – Chapter One: Chandra, which has stormed past the ₹101 crore global gross within just seven days of release.
The fantasy-action spectacle has created history by becoming the highest-grossing female-led film in South Indian cinema, setting a new benchmark for regional superhero storytelling.
Directed and written by Dominic Arun, the film stars Kalyani Priyadarshan as the trailblazing superhero Chandra, with strong support from Naslen and Sandy. Drawing inspiration from the legendary folklore of Kalliyankattu Neeli, the movie marks the beginning of an ambitious Indian superhero cinematic universe.
The film’s momentum shows no signs of slowing down. While the Telugu and Tamil versions are running successfully, the much-awaited Hindi release is set for September 4. In Kerala alone, the film is clocking over 1,400 daily shows, with most turning into sell-outs, reflecting unprecedented audience demand.
The cast also features Chandu Salimkumar, Arun Kurian, Sharath Sabha, Nishanth Sagar, and Vijayaraghavan, along with several surprise cameos that have thrilled fans.
Backed by powerhouse distributors — AGS Cinemas in Tamil Nadu, Lighter Buddha Films in Karnataka, Pen Marudhar in North India, and Sitara Entertainments in the Telugu states — Lokah has achieved true pan-India reach, marking a major milestone for Indian superhero films.
