Vijaya Shanti and DK Aruna have already bid goodbye to the Congress party and joined the BJP which has left Congress without any woman leader. With this the Congress party are in rage to put a check to their aggression.
The High Command is reportedly planning to appoint Konda Surekha as the party’s working president. Konda has good relations with the BC community as well as experience as a minister.
Former minister DK Aruna, who played a key role in the party, seems to be intent on bringing in a strong woman leader to help Congress as Vijaya Shanti joined BJP.
Meanwhile, the state women’s congress hopes to hand over the reins to MLA Sithakka from Mulugu district. This will create a platform for women leaders in the party.
