Special Status without Anything Special?

Aandra pradesh

Here’s the big news coming in. After a lot of dilly dallying, Centre finally seems to have bowed down to pressure by AP State government and its ally partners TDP, Jana Sena. According to highly-placed sources, Centre has decided to announce ‘Special Status’ to the successor state of Andhra Pradesh. Albeit, formally it may not be ‘Special Category Status’ on paper, BJP top brass and TDP top brass are working out such that all the benefits would be accorded to AP on par with SGS.

Apparently Amit Shah and Union Information & Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu are behind the driving force of this plan. It’s being chalked out such that no other Chief Ministers, MPs of other states can’t object. Once the plan is done, it’d be shown to PM Narendra Modi for approval after which it’d be made public. The big statement is likely to be made on Sep 2nd before Narendra Modi’s visit to Vietnam on Sep 3.

Amit Shah, the president of BJP, has met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Union Minister of State, Ministry of Science & Technology YS Chowdary have already met and decided on the above.

Special Status, a financial package for the underdeveloped districts, clarity on Polavaram funds and an announcement on Railway Zone to name a few among the list of benefits to be accorded to the new state. Looks like, good days are ahead for AP.
