President Trump and first lady Melania Trump paid tribute Friday to several American heroes who are helping on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis, including Girl Scouts from Maryland who donated cookies to nurses and firefighters.
In his opening remarks, President reiterated the facts how the US, as a nation is united in fighting the Corona pandemic and how millions of heroic Americans are raising to the occasion in helping everyone across. President said they gathered today at Rose Gardens in White House in awe and admiration for heroism, exceptional bravery, commitment and love of some of these Americans. He also said, nation is united in grief and prayer for the precious lives lost fighting this invisible enemy.
“The men and women we honor today remind us that the bonds that unite us in times of hardship can also raise us to new heights as we reopen and recover and rebuild,” the president said in a ceremony in the White House Rose Garden.

A New York City Police Sgt. Spencer Garrett contracted the disease and spent a month is recovering was the second honoree.
Then President Trump invited 3 Terrific 10 year Old Girl Scouts, Laila Khan, Lauren Matney and Sravya Annappareddy from Troop 744 based out of Elkridge, Maryland for donating 100 boxes of Girl Scouts cookies to local firefighters, doctors and nurses. He also said, the troop of these amazing girls sent over 200 personalized cards to healthcare workers all over.
Leila Khan, representing their troop thanked President of the United States for the honor and said three of them are representing their entire troop and millions of other kids. Miss. Khan said, in the middle of March when everything began to shut down, The Girl Scouts, like many other Americans felt compelled to help the Healthcare workers who are fighting the pandemic to show their appreciation. We donated a case of cookies to local firehouses and hospitals and created cards to mailed to healthcare workers and community. She said, one of the parent who is a healthcare worker took their cards and placed them in the lockers of doctors, nurses and other essential workers at Childrens National Hospital. Leila Khan also said that even though their troop is invited for the ceremony, they understand that they are representing millions of children who are doing many amazing things to family, friends and the community.
President Trumps said during these difficult times, Citizens are raising to the challenge like the many generations before. America never faced a trial likese these times but said he is confident that America is going to thrive and will do better.
President Trump mentioned in his closing remarks that men, women and children that are honored today reminds us that the bond that unites Americans during these hardships can also help USA while the country is re-opening, recovering and rebuilding.
President Trump then invited each and every honoree with a letter of recognition.

Sravya said, she feels so honored to represent all of her Girl Scouts and thinks se happened to be one of the lucky girls to be picked for this ceremony. She don’t think she did any better than millions of other girls but thanks the God for this awesome opportunity
Sravya’s father, Vijay Reddy Annappareddy, a Pharmacist from Maryland hails from Guntur City and mother Dr. Seeta Kallam, a Medical graduate from Andhra Medical College, Visakhapattanam hails from Narasaya Palem, near Bapatla Guntur.
Sravya’s Father, Vijay Reddy Annappareddy informed that Sravya volunteered many other times in various community activities like many other children, but getting recognizition from White House was totally unexpected and came out of nowhere. He said, both he and wife told their daughter to be humble for the opportunity presented and asked her to continue to do more.
Sravya’s parents donated over 25 lakhs in building a water purification plant in Ramanayapalem in Sravya’s name when she was born. We always taught to both of our kids, Sravya and Aviv Annappareddy, who is 6 year old that helping others is always a good thing.
