Recently, Sri Leela was roped in for Akhil Akkineni’s upcoming film but later backed out, citing scheduling conflicts. During the same period, she reportedly signed another project, making it impossible for her to accommodate Akhil’s film. This led to unforeseen difficulties for the makers, who had to rework their casting plans.
A similar situation is now unfolding with Ravi Teja’s upcoming film Mass Jathara. Leela was initially confirmed as the female lead and even shot for 12 days alongside Ravi Teja and the rest of the cast. However, when the makers requested 20 additional dates to complete her portions, scheduling conflicts arose again. Leela informed them that she had already allotted these dates to a Tamil project, making it impossible for her to continue shooting for Mass Jathara.
This unexpected development has put the film’s team in a tricky situation. Now, they may have to either wait for her availability or recast the role, leading to additional expenses for reshoots, production, and logistics. Reports suggest that Leela is trying to negotiate her way out of the situation, which is raising concerns among filmmakers.
While being a tough negotiator is not necessarily a drawback, industry insiders believe that such frequent scheduling issues could make producers think twice before casting her in big projects.
