Vishwambhara: Chiranjeevi’s Mythological Fantasy Adventure
Vishwambhara, directed by Mallidi Vassishta of Bimbisara fame, features Megastar Chiranjeevi in the lead role. In a recent interview, the director shared intriguing details about the film’s narrative, which blends mythology with fantasy on an epic scale.
Set in a fictional realm beyond the 14 known worlds (lokas) of Hindu mythology, Vishwambhara introduces audiences to an unexplored dimension. The plot follows Chiranjeevi’s character on a daring quest to this mystical world to rescue the heroine, played by Trisha Krishnan, and bring her back to Earth.
Vassishta emphasized that the story is entirely distinct from Chiranjeevi’s 1990 classic Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, despite surface-level mythological connections. The film leans heavily on visual effects, with nearly 70% of the movie designed with advanced VFX to bring its spiritual and fantastical landscapes to life.
Speaking earlier this year from Tirumala, Vassishta expressed confidence in the film’s grand vision, stating, “Vishwambhara has all the makings of a blockbuster, and we’re thrilled with the way it’s shaping up.” The production scale reflects this ambition — even the songs are being filmed with extravagant sets and choreography, while action sequences feature large numbers of fighters and varied backdrops to enhance the visual spectacle.
With its unique storyline, mythological depth, and cutting-edge visuals, Vishwambhara is poised to offer a fresh cinematic experience for audiences.
