Director Murugudoss is known for churning out memorable films. He made a mark on the entire nation with Ghajini after Aamir Khan did that film in Hindi and it went on to become an industry hit. Since then he is busy these days both in Tamil and Hindi directing star heroes.
Off late, Murugudoss is directing a female oriented film starring Sonakshi Sinha in Hindi. He titled the film ‘Akhira’. It is known that Pawan Kalyan son’s name is Akhira Nandan. Pawan Kalyan named him after his favourite Japanese director, Akhira Kurasowa who is known across the world for his brilliant films.
However Murugudoss say his film is not titled after Akhira Kurasowa or Akhira Nandan but it is a coincidence. According to Murugudoss, Akhira means ‘Graceful strength’. His film is a heroine oriented one and his heroine is a strong willed women and so he named it as Akhira.
The film is in the backdrop of Rajasthan and Mumbai. Murugudoss says that it is based on a real life incident that happened in those places. On the other side, there are rumours that Murugudoss is one of the strong contenders to the be the director of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s 150th film which will mark his comeback to filmy world after a disastrous political career.
It may be reminded to our viewers that Chiranjeevi’s Tagore original was directed by Murugudoss in Tamil.
